About

About Sentin

I’m Romar. I live in the Netherlands, and I built Sentin.

Why I built it

I have trademarks of my own. Once they were registered, I wanted to know if anyone filed something close to them. In the EU you have three months from publication to object. After that, it gets much harder.

There were two ways to keep an eye on the register. I could search it myself every week. Or I could pay a watching service, and the one I used cost me about €1,300 a year.

Neither felt right for a small business. A weekly search is easy to forget. €1,300 a year was more than I wanted to spend.

So I built something that watches the register for me. Then I made it available to other owners.

What Sentin is

Sentin is a small, independent service that watches the register so owners don’t have to. Every morning it checks for new filings that look like your mark. When one does, it emails you with the details and the date you have to object by.

In a quiet week you get a short all-clear email instead, so you know the watch is still running.

It is made for owners of one or two marks who want to know without checking by hand. You can read exactly what it looks at on What Sentin watches.

What Sentin is not

Sentin is not part of the EUIPO, and it is not a law firm. It does not give legal advice, and it does not file oppositions for you. It tells you what was filed and when the deadline is. What to do about it is up to you, with a trademark attorney if it matters.

What I promise

About your data: I do not sell it, and I do not use it for advertising. I store what the service needs: your account, the marks you add and your alert history. Payments go through Stripe, so your card details never reach me. The data is kept on servers in the EU, and if you close your account I delete your personal data within 30 days. The full version is in the privacy policy.
